In October, the production and sales of new energy vehicles continued to grow month-on-month and year-on-year, with production and sales reaching 397,000 vehicles and 383,000 vehicles respectively. Recently, many places have introduced new measures to encourage the consumption of new energy vehicles and related commodities.

For example, Guangzhou recently issued "Several Policies and Measures to Promote Urban Consumption", proposing that the incremental quota for energy-saving cars be increased to 80,000 from 2021 to 2022. Shenzhen City has proposed to further relax the application conditions for new energy vehicle quotas and remove restrictions such as social security conditions to promote the sales of new energy vehicles.

Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Development of the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Industry." The plan proposes that by 2025, Zhejiang Province will promote the use of nearly 5,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in public transportation, ports, intercity logistics and other fields, and plan to build nearly 50 hydrogenation stations.

Shanghai has introduced a subsidy policy for the fuel cell vehicle industry, which involves six parts of policy arrangements, including supporting the application of complete vehicles and supporting the development of key parts. Specifically, it includes vehicle purchase incentives, key parts incentives, vehicle operation incentives, Support bus operations, hydrogen refueling station construction subsidies, and hydrogen retail price subsidies. The large-scale promotion of new energy vehicles is undoubtedly a "strong shot" for the carbon neutral market. As an important means of transportation, cars bear irreplaceable responsibilities for energy conservation and emission reduction. However, replacing traditional gasoline vehicles with new energy vehicles is not a "one-size-fits-all" solution to carbon neutrality, nor can it be viewed as a once-and-for-all solution.
